44 Years of Food and Fun at T.G.I. Friday's

When a restaurant’s motto is, “Guest requests are never denied,” there will be many guests and even more requests over the span of 44 years. And T.G.I. Friday’s has been around for all of it. Items that first appeared on T.G.I. Friday’s menus are now industry standards and guests keep coming back. These fun food facts show what happens in one year at T.G.I. Friday’s.

In 2009, T.G.I. Friday’s restaurants worldwide:

  • Served approximately 191,465,640 guests in more than 1000 restaurants in 60 countries.
  • Served 27,016,528 hamburgers and in an amazing number of guest-specified combinations….which is also equal to over 10,584,380 pounds of burger!
  • Served 10,843,964 orders of Buffalo Wings;
  • Served enough Loaded Potato Skins that if they were laid end-to-end they would reach from Anchorage to Dallas…..and if you laid all of the Chicken Fingers end-to-end that we served….they would reach from Miami to Seattle!
  • Went through 41,984,881 pounds of french-fried potatoes, 10,777,959 pounds of chicken wings, 70,952,650 dozen eggs, and 64,870,394 ounces of ketchup.

First at T.G.I. Friday's

  • T.G.I. Friday’s is credited with inventing the world-famous Loaded Potato Skins.
  • T.G.I. Friday’s was the first casual dining restaurant chain to offer stone-ground whole wheat bread, avocados, bean sprouts and Mexican appetizers.
  • T.G.I. Friday’s popularized frozen drinks and ice cream drinks.
  • T.G.I. Friday’s pioneered non-alcoholic Smoothies and Flings in honor of the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
